Time to pack my bags again

4. February 2019

Soon it's time to pack our bags again. Thursday is departure to Lahti, Finland.
I am happy to be back in the team and to be able to compete with the best.

There lies a very intensive time behind me. Maybe even as intense as I've never had before. Again and again I received good input and there were also some very effective jumps.

To feel really confident on the hill and having 100% "my feeling" is unfortunately not always the case. That's why I'm very curious how things will go in the first World Cup after 10 weeks and where I stand exactly.
In any case, my motivation is still there. I'm glad that I'm back in the World Cup now.

We have tried to do everything possible towards the home World Championships in Seefeld.
I am optimistic and still give everything.

Of course, there are still a few question marks as to how I will be doing until then.
In any case, my path will remain the same, regardless of the outcome of the next World Cups. I'm going to continue it with all the challenges that are coming up.
If the results are less successful and I can't be at the World Cup, things will continue after the World Cup. To jump effectively and with a great feeling, that's what gives me meaning at the moment and what I'm striving for.

Stefan Kraft´s successes of the last weeks are great and that has shown that there is still a lot of potential in our team. He is currently very good at showcasing what we are all about:

Our sport is very sensitive. We have to find the right subtleties and implement them as precisely as possible.

Every athlete has to find his or her own way to make these sometimes minimal adjustments to his or her feelings. I have also tried in all directions to find them for myself. That is and remains my current challenge.

By the way: The hills in Innsbruck and Seefeld are sensationally prepared.
It makes me proud that my own club SV Innsbruck Bergisel works so well. You can already look forward to top competitions in the coming weeks.

That health is still the most important thing, I see at the moment with many athlete colleagues. Suffering and success are always close together.
I wish Anna Veith all the best and fullest recovery. Unfortunately, some more colleagues from the Austrian ski team have been affected to. My recovery wishes also apply to you. Lindsey Vonn and Aksel Lund Svindal, I wish these two exceptional athletes all the best for their last races. Due to my injuries in the last years, I have a good idea of how they are feeling right now.

I really appreciate that I am healthy and full of energy.
This is also the only way I can reach my goal, to have a great feeling and to do exceptional jumps. That's where I am and what I train for every day. With or without the Worldchamps in Seefeld.

I would like to thank you very much for the numerous support - also in the past weeks, when I was less present in the media.
I really used this time to train hard and keep working on myself.
It means a lot to me to feel your support!
