TTT: Training, Talk beim Fifteen Seconds Festival und Tolle Autos

30. June 2018

To be successful in the air, you have to overcome the obstacles on the ground.

True to this claim I already have some hundred jumps in my legs, if only on grass over hurdles and since June now also on skijumping hills on mats.
In June traditionally always the first mat jumping starts.
So we have already been in Eisenerz, Villach, Planica and are currently in Oberstdorf with the Austrian skijumping team.
So for me the claim also means: Those who wants to be superior in winter, must sweat in the summer.
And I´m more than willing to sweat in this case. Especially if it takes place in such a pleasant environment like the training course we had in Faak am See. The location directly at the lake is simply awesome. And we also made good use of the lake: every day we started with a joint Qi Gong session at sunrise.
I feel the team is growing well together, there is a good relationship and I think we are on the right track.
There is still a lot to do, but everyone is very motivated, fresh and full of anticipation for the first competitions - which by the way already starts in a few weeks at the end of July: the Summer Grand Prix 2018.

As a nice change to the training routine, I had the pleasure to do a very special road trip with Audi: The Audi R8 Alps Tour.
In an Audi R8 Spyder we drove from Kitzbühel towards the Großglockner Hochalpenstraße. Great panorama of the three thousand meter peaks, as well as fantastic panoramic paths with marvelous views of the Tyrolean mountains included.
Feeling the energy of this car and to spin along the turns while enjoying the beautiful landscape was a really cool feeling.
I also took my Leica camera with me and took some photos.

At the end of May I also got the chance to attend the Fifteen Seconds Festival in Graz.
This is an interdisciplinary business festival that unites a global community from a variety of industries. They are united by the will to shape the future.
It was very interesting for me to experience the entrepreneurial, motivated atmosphere there.
Physically, I was a little struck unfortunately ("fresh Eierschwammerl from Austria" in May are not recommendable;) ) Therefore, I could not absorb the mood 100%.
But I also had the opportunity to talk on stage about my "business plan in sports", parallels that I see between sports and business, and generally speaking of my topic of “moving-on”. No matter if in sports, in the economic world and generally in life, it´s always about love: the love to things, the love to people and the energy resulting from that.
I think to be really successful, you got to love what you do.
There is a recording of my talk on Youtube.
(in german)

I was also invited to the Formula 1 - the Grand Prix of Austria.
It was not the first time for me, but nevertheless a premiere: Max Verstappen with Red Bull Racing has won "at home" at the Red Bull Ring for the first time.
It was a very special atmosphere and made great impressions on me.
My main partner Red Bull gave us the opportunity to travel to the Ring with the DC6 of the Flying Bulls and to watch the race from the front row.
So the trip to and from the Ring was already an event itself on this Sunday with picture-perfect weather over our magnificent landscape in Austria. I felt really humbled and was grateful that I am able to live here and experience that.

That's why, among other things, I appreciate my partners so much:
These are experiences which last.
