Voller Tatendrang - Es könnte heute schon weitergehen

6. April 2018

Full of energy - It could go on today

The last World Cup competition of the season in Planica was already 2 weeks ago and I took a bit of time and distance to analyze how satisfied I am with last season.

First and foremost I am grateful. Thankful for a lot of fun, great experiences and for being able to do what I like most: skijumping.

Even without the world record distance of 253.5m on the penultimate day of the season, my resume would have been positive, but I have to confess that such a perfect flight at the end of the season has sweetened the season a bit.

In Sports it was half a year full of ups and downs and i never got in perfect shape.
I felt extremely good in October. I saw and felt in training that I can get challange the best. Then an injury in Ramsau - torn ligament. Another break and I missed the first month in the World Cup.

Since the return I never got consistent. Many times I could not show my best jumps in competition. A completely new experience for me at which I will mature.
But I really do not want to complain. I feel good, but now a little distance is doing very well and of course I'm going on vacation now in April.

Overall, I'm fine and full of energy. I feel no disappointment. The way has just become a bit longer and I have a lot of fun to go on. I used to look forward to vacation and relaxation after a season. Today I am looking forward to skijumping again and to push me to my limits in training.

The team at the Innsbruck Olympic Center, the training group in Stams and all my coaches did a great job and I always had joy and fun last season. I'm sure the next one will be like that too.

Training group 1 will change after the resignation of Heinz Kuttin now a lot. I think that as a head coach, he gave everything he could. I really enjoyed working with him and also have no explanation why it did not work out this year. I would have liked to achieve better results or even win a competition for Austria and the team.

I already know that the next coach will give everything and I’m looking forward to new ideas and impulses. But especially to be successful together.

Currently I am back in the Olympic Region of-Seefeld. Tomorrow the GS Ski Jumping Day will take place: https://www.redbull.com/at-de/gregor-schlierenzauer-skisprungtag +
I was really thankful about the Red Bull Edition with my portrait on it and wanted to give something back to the fans who made it possible for me. That's why 10 women and 10 men will skijump with me tomorrow, Saturday. I am the coach. A new situation for me and I am looking forward to it. I'll be posting all day on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/gregorschlierenzauer and on https://www.instagram.com/redbullaustria/ and I'm hope you look into the coverage from time to time.
