Jumps into the New Year

31. December 2018

During my training here in Seefeld, I experience the preparation for the home World Cup first hand.
It's really cool to know that this great event will be held here in 2 months.

For that I promised myself to give everything.

That meant also, instead of taking part at the 4 Hills Tournament, to continue training individually and intensively.
We work, above all, on a "feeling-adaptation." This may sound like a minor thing and almost esoteric, but it makes a big difference for us in ski jumping: It's always about the right balance: from the start, while accelerating in the inrun, when taking off, how the skis move towards the body and while landing.
The body has to be perfectly balanced, so that I can achieve a top performance.
We work very methodically on the right feeling for this balance. On the technique, the set-up and the structure.

The set-up we are working on, can be compared to a golf swing.
If you don´t have the right feeling, each of the small movements within a swing becomes difficult, complicated and restrained.
And above all, the ball does not fly as it could and should.
It was similar in my situation and my jumps.
Now I am in the process of finding my right “swing” in ski jumping again. Every day. For that I invest a lot.

This started with training off the hill, visualizations, then training on small hills, now on larger hills.

Physically and mentally I feel really good and therefore I would like to compete again as soon as possible in the World Cup.
But before that, it is still necessary to create this basis.
It is challenging, but every day a great task of trying to make the most out of myself.

I receive a lot of support. Therefore, I would like to say THANK YOU at this point:

Thanks to the ÖSV. Above all, Mario Stecher, Andi Felder and Flo Liegl, who make this professional support possible.

A very sincere thank you also to my partners, who have always believed in me.
This strong support continues to give me wings.

The plan for the upcoming days is still open.
We want to use the perfect conditions here in Seefeld for the next days.
Then it will be time to decide on what's right for me.

In any case, the previous path makes me optimistic!

Now I wish you all a GREAT START INTO THE NEW YEAR
With a lot of energy, a lot of joy and a great swing ;)

I am looking forward to seeing you soon at the hill!

Change is everything

4. December 2018

It´s time to change even more!

The last 4 years have been very intense for me. I’ve managed to learn more about my mental aspects.
I´m grateful for that.

Now it´s important to intensify the developments in the sportive field.
This means, despite a lot of preparation, to change more than the usual.

The old system and the old technique that helped me succeed for a long time, needs change. Now I have the chance to continue working on my technique, and find out what works for me.

With more intuition and the development that is happening right now, I have full confidence that this is the right direction.

Change is also challenge and I accept it. Fully!

The goal is that I develop a technique, once again, that will give me the chance to realize the full potential that I still feel inside of me.

Together with the coaching team, we decided to focus on training and optimizing the technique, rather than on the upcoming World Cups.
Fast, efficient, intensive and effective.

We analyzed the situation very intensely.
From now on, I am completely focused on the solution and the associated change.

I promise myself that I will try everything to achieve my goals.

I am confident that I will succeed with the road ahead of me.

Therefore starting today: full focus on my training.

This road is challenging, but it´s not going to stop me from being where I want to be.
I am more ready than ever to take the necessary steps!
With joy and confidence!

The goal is #roadtoseefeld2019.

I wish my skijumping colleagues and the whole team a lot of joy and success in the upcoming World Cups and I will follow it wholehearthedly.

I wouldn't be here without all your support in the last years and now.
Knowing you have my back means the world to me!
