IM WETTKAMPF NOCH VIEL POTENTIAL NACH OBEN

1. August 2017

There is still a lot of potential in competition

Hinterzarten, the second stop of the Summer Grand Prix, was a positive step forward and a further confirmation of my intensive training since mid-May.

As hoped, the summer GP in Hinterzarten was the next step forward. Wonderful weather, nice people, great fans - and as you may have already seen on Instagram with a great photographer @ marci_f14, I would like to thank you again. So overall a perfect environment that took me a step further.

What makes me happy: Slowly my jumps are satisfying my expectations. My jumps in the training already were within the best.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t transfer these good jumps into the competition.

But I have been around for a long time, I know why and I can use that positively for me. My jump is currently working very well, if two, three criteria of the technique are met. If I can’t meet them, I cannot realize my jumping power to the fullest.

But that’s a competition in the summer for: exactly to get this insights and knowledge and to adjust for autumn and winter.

Hinterzarten was not the next step in the results list, but the competition training made it clear to me that I am on a very good way. Furthermore, I feel in my jumps that there is still a lot of potential available. This is a great challenge and, of course, also the goal of tackling the whole thing step by step.

I am currently in Kandersteg in Switzerland with the young training group from Stams. I use the smaller, but modern facility, here which is not easy to jump. Then I am heading for a short detour to the Beach Volleyball World Cup to Vienna and then a one-week holiday on Ibiza. In August I will generally have lnot so much to do with ski jumping. Now, once again, hard training blocks expect me to be well equipped for the winter.

You will hear from me soon again – at the latest after my holidays! I want to wish all of you a great summer – enjoy it and have a good time!

All the best,

Gregor
