A matter of patience

Good morning from finland =)
Overall, the long weekend in Wisla was exactly the right thing. The summer Grand Prix was a great training under competitive conditions. Above all, it has been a lot of fun to jump, to be back with the World Cup family on the road again and absorb the atmosphere.

There were a few good jumps and a few less good jumps, but not a single perfect or nearly perfect. But there is not much missing. That is why i need to go further.
Wisla was the confirmation for the hard training that has been going on since mid-May: the positive things outweigh in my jumps. But now it goes on: the next steps in terms of technic, adjustion of equipment but also in self-confidence come next.

I think it will be a matter of patience – and I will have it.

In preparation, I will continue to do everything I can to achieve my goals. Then the right jumps will happen.
Success is just the result of hard work and I will face exactly this hard work.

Next is an intensive training week here in Kuusamo, Finland. From the 27th I will also be at the next summer Grand Prix in Hinterzarten. There will be no free days in the next weeks. Just a lot of training - and I am really looking forward to it! I expect 30 degrees of heat and a tired body. But this is exactly what I love. To feel myself, to move, to explore my boundaries and then see how far I can go.

What treats me, are you out there, and your tremendous encouragement on social media. Thanks for your support, which motivates me additionally and gives energy. Are you also using Instagram stories? If you want, you can accompany me there every day.

Yours, GS

SUMMER GRAND PRIX WISLA - HERE WE GO!

12. July 2017

As you have noticed, I took a break from blogging. I needed time to find focus for my training to take a decisive step forward.

And it worked so far - the preparation is going well. However, I have to say: It is different than in the past years:
Last summer, after my accident and my knee injurie, the focus was to ever be able to operate again as a performance athlete. The years before it was a routine and above all, tiring.

This year it is a wonderful feeling. I feel matured and can enjoy to be in the training every day it since May 15 again. Particularly cool is my training group, because of better a better location and better timing for me, I train with a group from the Ski gymnasium Stams. So with many young jumpers. This is a great challenge, very motivating and a lot of fun. At the moment, the focus is on power set-up with many maximum and rapid force elements, but also for jump technic.

Very important of course, the knee is doing well. I am completely painless, and that feels great. Sometimes I take some longer regeneration phases, to take no risk. As you may have seen on Instagram, I have been taking some time for golf lately.

On Thursday, we will start with the summer Grand Prix in Wisla. This is followed by a really intense and dense program with a training block in Kuusamo and the next summer GP in Hinterzarten.

I am looking forward to the first competition since March and am eager to see how good I am. Of course, it is just a training under competitive conditions. Nevertheless, there is a result list, an international comparison and that is always something special. As soon as you get a start number, you are automatically in another mode. That is why it is also an important exercise for the mind and with regard to the winter already very interesting.

A competition in Poland is always an additional motivation factor. In Wisla, I also returned back to the World Cup in January. In addition, it is always nice to jump in front of thousands of people than just in front of a handful – therefore Poland is perfect!
